TERMS OF USE

The rules for using this site

GCODE/VIEW is a free inspection aid, not a slicer, machine controller, or safety certification. Use it lawfully, check important jobs independently, and remain responsible for every file you send to a printer.

Accepting these terms

These Terms of Use govern access to GCODE/VIEW, including the viewer, command reference, glossary, and related pages. In these terms, “the site” means GCODE/VIEW and “the operator” means the person or entity responsible for publishing it.

By accessing or using the site, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the site. If you use the site for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf.

What the site provides

The site provides browser-based tools and reference material for inspecting 3D-printer G-code. Depending on the file, it may draw a 3D toolpath, show individual layers, display source commands, and estimate or report details such as print time, filament use, dimensions, temperatures, and requested speeds.

The service is currently provided free of charge and without an account. Features may be added, changed, limited, suspended, or removed at any time. Availability is not guaranteed, and no support or maintenance commitment is created by these terms.

Your files and rights

Your G-code remains yours

The viewer processes G-code inside your browser. The site does not receive the file and does not claim ownership of it.

You are responsible for having the right to open and use every file you select. Do not use the site with material that you obtained unlawfully or in a way that infringes another person’s intellectual-property, privacy, confidentiality, or other rights.

Local processing is described in more detail in the Privacy Policy. You remain responsible for keeping your own copies and backups; the site does not store or recover files.

Machine safety and accuracy

Do not treat a preview as approval to print

A path that looks correct on screen can still be unsafe or unsuitable for your printer, firmware, material, or setup.

G-code varies between slicers, firmware, printers, extensions, and custom macros. The viewer may omit, simplify, misinterpret, or fail to display commands. Estimates can differ from real machine behavior, and a successful analysis does not prove that a file is complete, safe, compatible, or free from collisions or other faults.

Before operating a machine, independently verify the file in the appropriate slicer or trusted software, confirm build volume, origin, tool, nozzle, material, temperature, motion, and firmware settings, and follow the printer manufacturer’s instructions. Never rely on this site as the only check for a safety-critical, valuable, or unattended job.

Acceptable use

You may use the site only for lawful purposes. You must not:

  • interfere with the site, its hosting, security controls, or other visitors’ access;
  • attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, data, or infrastructure;
  • send malware, abusive traffic, automated requests that impose an unreasonable load, or other harmful code;
  • use the site to violate applicable law or another person’s rights; or
  • misrepresent the site, its results, or your relationship with its operator.

Access may be blocked or limited when reasonably necessary to protect the site, its host, or other users, or to comply with law.

Site content and software

The site’s original design, text, graphics, and reference material are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. You may access them through the site for ordinary personal or business use, and you may link to public pages. These terms do not transfer ownership of the site or its content to you.

Open-source packages, firmware names, product names, documentation excerpts, and other third-party materials remain subject to their own licenses and rights. Nothing in these terms overrides a license that accompanies software or third-party content.

No warranties

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the site and all results, estimates, previews, and reference content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, availability, security, or error-free operation.

You use the site at your own risk. The operator does not promise that errors will be corrected, that every G-code dialect will be supported, or that the site will always be available.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss, or for loss of data, files, profits, production time, material, equipment, or goodwill arising from access to, use of, reliance on, or inability to use the site.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or liability that applicable law does not allow to be excluded or limited. Consumer protections and other mandatory legal rights in your jurisdiction continue to apply.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated when the service, its risks, or legal requirements change. The date at the top will show the latest revision. Material changes will apply prospectively after the revised terms are posted. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
